Croatian Civil Aviation Agency (CCAA) has published a statistical comparison for May 2019/2020 by airports in Croatia.

According to these statistics, the total decline in the number of operations in Croatia compared to May last year is -90.50 percent (1,257 vs. 13,227) while the decline in the number of accepted and dispatched passengers climbs to a staggering -98.19 percent (20,214 vs. 1,115,872).
In terms of the number of passengers, Pula Airport was the most affected, as it had no passengers in May this year, while Zagreb Airport had the most passengers (13,729 -95.57 percent), which can be largely attributed to the maintained flights Zagreb – Frankfurt – Zagreb, as well as repatriation flights of Croatia Airlines.
Also, the statistics show that the least affected by the epidemic was freight traffic in Zagreb. Although a drop of almost 60% was recorded at that airport, slightly more than 400 tons of goods were transported, a good part of which is assistance in medical equipment needed to fight the COVID – 19 virus.
Looking at the period from the beginning of the year to the end of May this year and last year, we come to the data that the decline in the number of operations in Croatian aviation is -60.09 percent, while the decline in the number of passengers compared to the same period last year is -75.49 percent.
In Europe, measures were relaxed and borders were opened in June and air traffic returned, so the figures will be different, but overall, far from last year.
