In 2020, Zagreb Airport was among the first European airports to successfully pass the accreditation program for the establishment of health security measures in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The re-accreditation process for 2021 was recently completed, in which special emphasis was placed on further improving the implemented health security measures in the conditions of COVID-19 at airports, developed by the Airports Council International (ACI World).
It is a process of evaluating conditions and organization which provides a safe airport experience in line with the recommended health measures established in the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines. This program is designed to help reassure the traveling public that airport facilities remain safe and that precautions are being taken to reduce any risk to their health.
The program was developed in line with the ICAO Council Aviation Recovery Task Force Recommendations, along with the industry’s best practices.
After reviewing the evidence presented through the evaluation process, International Zagreb Airport has shown that it provides a safe airport experience for all travelers and earned ACI’s Airport Health Accreditation for the next 12 months.
“We are proud to have successfully passed the demanding process of evaluating the management and further improving all measures to protect against COVID-19 infection at Zagreb Airport for the second year in a row. With the new “safe airport in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic” we have proven our commitment to protecting the health of passengers, employees, and all users of our services, which is certainly one of the important prerequisites for a gradual recovery of the traffic. “- said Nicolas Duthilleul, COO.
