The presentation takes place at a time when the national airline Croatia Airlines is considering ways to reorganize its operations and optimize its destination network and rejuvenate its aged fleet.

According to some information, Croatia is negotiating with the manufacturer to turn the previous order of four A320 NEO, which were supposed to start with delivery next year, into an order of A220s. A possible number of 15 new A220s appeared in the media. The method of financing this order is not yet known to the public.
