EUROCONTROL published a comparison of air traffic 2019 and 2020

Eurocontrol, the European organization for the safety of air navigation, has published data on the number of flights since the beginning of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

These figures show that in the heat of the pandemic, in April, the number of flights in Europe barely exceeded 5,000 in the best days, while in the same period last year that number exceeded 30,000.

Although the pandemic is declining all over the world and some countries have announced that it has ended, number of flights is still devastating.

As of June 2, 2019, Eurocontrol recorded 34,090 flights, while this year there were 6,009 flights on that day, which is only 15.6% of last year’s number.

Eurocontrol also published data for June 1, 2019 and 2019 by carriers, which shows that Turkish Airlines is recording the re-establishment of flights on domestic routes.
