Given the recent new information in the process of renewing the fleet of Croatia Airlines, we sent an inquiry to the national airline regarding the current situation known to the public. Below is the inquiry together with the answer in its entirety.
AvioRadar: “Croatia Airlines, in accordance with the recommendations of the so-called post-Covid strategy, has started talks with global aircraft manufacturers related to fleet renewal. As confirmed to AvioRadar, Croatia Airlines is in talks with Airbus (for model A220), Embraer (for the E2 family of aircraft), and Boeing (for the 737 MAX family of aircraft) What negotiations are currently in progress, and is there a date by which they will be concluded or by which date CTN will renew the fleet?
Furthermore, is there a plan to transition to a new fleet aircraft model, or will CTN fly 3 types of fleet aircraft during the transition? In addition, it is well known that leasing for Dash aircraft is coming to an end (soon), is it speeding up the fleet renewal process itself? Finally, is there an approximate date by which a complete fleet renewal is planned?
In summary, we would like to ask you to comment on the entire fleet renewal process. “
Croatia Airlines: “Croatia Airlines is currently conducting aircraft market research on possible fleet renewal, as envisaged in the post-covid strategy. In this context, potential options with multiple aircraft manufacturers are being considered and possible fleet renewal scenarios are being developed, which will begin when the necessary conditions will be created. “

It should be reminded that at the end of last year, Airbus and Embraer publicly presented their A220-300 and E-195E2 aircraft to Croatia Airlines, but the owner of CTN (Government of the Republic of Croatia) has not yet approved a new strategic plan that includes fleet renewal. Recently, as confirmed to AvioRadar by Boeing, information was received that Croatia Airlines is in talks with Boeing regarding the purchase of aircraft from the 737 MAX family.
What is still unknown to the public is the procurement model, ie the financial model by which the national airline plans to close the financial structure for the procurement of new, as it is unofficially known, 12-15 aircraft.
