The global software glitch, which was allegedly caused by Microsoft’s security updates, affected the aviation industry worldwide, and the problem did not bypass the Croatian stakeholders either.
Namely, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Croatia, Oleg Butković, confirmed for N1 that Croatia Control is also affected: “Air navigation control is experiencing difficulties. While operationally everything is functioning, the administrative system is down. This is not due to a cyber attack, and we are working on resolving the issue. The effectiveness of air navigation control remains intact.”
AvioRadar has learned that the reservation system of Croatia Airlines is also interrupted, but there is currently no information on whether the malfunction affects the national airline at operational level.
The computer failure was reported by airlines such as IndiGo, Spice Jet, Frontier, and Jet Star, leading some of them to cancel individual flights. Certain airports were also affected, particularly in the passenger registration sector, causing longer-than-usual waits at London’s Gatwick, Luton, and Stansted airports. However, there is no information about disruptions in flight schedules.
