At today’s Government session, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković announced the resumption of domestic air transport in Croatia.
As he stated, flight operations will begin on May 11th.
Avioradar learns that the national air carrier has been preparing for the resumption of flights for some time now, with several scenarios in plan. The decision on which scenario to implement and what flights to introduce depends on a number of factors, including the measures recommended by the Croatian Civil Protection Staff, as well as the decision of the Croatian and European Civil Aviation Agency, and in agreement with the airports.
It is certain that as of this date, not all flights (destinations and frequency) that were operated prior to the COVID-19 virus pandemic will be established.
The Director of commercial affairs at Dubrovnik Airport, Ivan Maslać, confirmed to us by telephone that the airport, which is the only one officially closed in Croatia, will start operating on May 2nd. The airport will not operate 24 hours a day, but will adjust its working hours to the announced traffic.
