Taiwan’s China Airlines has finalized an order for ten Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, confirming its December 2024 commitment. The aircraft will operate long-haul routes to North America and Europe.
China Airlines Chairman Kao Shing-Hwang stated the A350-1000’s efficiency and comfort will be crucial for the carrier’s development. Airbus’s Benoît de Saint-Exupéry praised the selection, noting China Airlines joins the growing group of operators for this advanced aircraft.
The A350 represents the pinnacle of widebody technology, capable of flying up to 9,700 nautical miles non-stop. It uses 25% less fuel with lower emissions than previous generations. Already compatible with 50% sustainable aviation fuel, it aims for 100% compatibility by 2030.
China Airlines currently operates 15 A350-900s on long-haul routes, plus 15 A321neo and 16 A330 aircraft for regional flights. The A350 family has received over 1,360 orders from 60 customers worldwide.
