British Airways’ A319 AOG in Zagreb for 6 days

British Airways Airbus A319 has been standing at the west stand at Franjo Tuđman Airport for the 6th day, due to a malfunction. The aircraft arrived in Zagreb on Saturday, September 16, 2023, on flight BA848 from London, and was supposed to return to London (LHR) after the turnaround. Upon landing at ZAG, the crew reported a failure of the windshield heater, and as British Airways’ contracted line maintenance provider did not have the necessary parts, the aircraft was grounded and declared AOG (Aircraft On Ground). The return flight BA849 was canceled and the passengers were transferred to the next day’s flight.

The aircraft bears the reg. G-DBCD, and according to the AirFleets.net portal, it belonged to the now defunct carrier BMI – British Midland in the past. In 2012, it was transferred from the BMI fleet to British Airways.

According to data available to AvioRadar, the plane was scheduled to leave Zagreb today, September 22, on flight BA9279 to London Heathrow at 13:45, but upon the article closure, the aircraft was still on gorund.
