The aircraft of Czech carrier Smartwings, Boeing 737-7Q8, registered OK-SWW on the flight from Prague to Split, declared a state of emergency in the Croatian airspace and sent transponder code 7700 at 13:27.
The plane landed safely at Resnik Airport at 13:50 local time, after which it was taken over by the police.
As AvioRadar initially found out, there was an explosive device threat on board.
The airport police station in Split confirmed that the plane en route Prague – Split landed at Split airport and that, in accordance with standard operating procedures, the threat report they received was being checked. The aircraft was separated, all passengers left the aircraft and security services are in progress. Traffic at Split Airport was regular all the time.
