Austria is richer for one new airline – LILIAIR. This new airline will be based at Klagenfurt Airport. It will connect Klagenfurt with these airports in Germany: Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg. Between Klagenfurt and Frankfurt, there will be two flights a day, one in the morning and one in the evening, except on Saturdays and Sundays, when there will only be one flight. Flights are organized for one-day business trips and making connections to other destinations in Europe and the world via Frankfurt Airport. The company will fly to Munich and Hamburg three times a week, to Hamburg on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and to Munich on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The first flights are expected on April 23, 2023. It is possible to book tickets for flights via the liliair.com website, but it is still not possible to buy tickets directly on the website. You can leave your information and the booking agent calls you back, howerver from March 2023, it will be possible to buy tickets through the website, and at the airport prior to flights.
When networking with international reservation systems is implemented, it will be possible to book tickets for connecting flights in Frankfurt, and it will be possible, for example, to fly from Klagenfurt to New York with a connecting flight in Frankfurt.
The ticket price will include one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 21 kilograms, and hand luggage weighing up to 8 kilograms. The maximum dimensions of hand luggage are 55 x 40 x 23 centimeters.
Their fleet will consist of two CRJ900 aircraft, the aircraft capacity is 90 seats.
LILIAIR initially expects around 50,000 passengers a year.
LILIAIR was founded by the LILIHILL Group, which is also the majority owner of Klagenfurt Airport. LILIHILL invested EUR 27 million in LILIAIR and is the 100% owner. With the launch of the new airline, 45 new jobs were created.
