Croatia Airlines renews a product in cooperation with DB: Rail&Fly

Croatia Airlines published its first product Rail&Fly (which changed its name over time and was also called AirTrain and Fly and Rail…) for travel on October 26, 2003.

Over the years, passengers have been offered the opportunity to transfer in Frankfurt, Munich and Düsseldorf to all lines of the German carrier Deutsche Bahn. At the same time, the company built special offers (eg for the 2006 World Cup in Germany), technologically advanced in the distribution from paper tickets to electronic ones, and followed DB’s technological progress, their ticketing and the purchase of reservations at machines.

After the recent change of DB’s distribution platform, and due to a significant drop in passengers caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the sale of the Fly&Rail product was temporarily suspended, and active work is currently being done to reestablish the distribution and sale of regular trains within Germany operated by DB.

After the reconnection of the distribution systems, passengers will again be able to buy a Croatia Airlines ticket, which will also include train transportation within Germany, and given that the projects of connecting the different distribution systems are largely dependent on a third party, i.e. the supplier, it is not possible to predict exactly at this moment release date.
