Germania Flug (GM/GSW) has rebranded as Chair Airlines (GM/GSW) and will also change its legal name from Germania Flug AG to Chair Airlines AG effective July 1, 2019. The Swiss leisure carrier said that its new name “represents the seats in the aircraft, which we ultimately sell as an airline. The name also contains the letters “ch”, which establish a link to Switzerland, together with the word “air”, which represents the airline.”
The first of Chair Airlines’ three A319–100s has already been repainted in the new livery with the other two due to follow shortly. The airline said that the rebranding will not lead to any changes in its business model. “Tour operators have always been our main customers and we want it to stay that way. The aim is to use the new brand to further develop this business area while also optimizing our utilization through the sale of individual seats.
Chair Airlines will offer scheduled flights to Antalya, Beirut, Burgas, Calvi, Heraklion, Hurghada, Kos, Larnaca, Palma de Mallorca, Marsa Alam, Rhodes, Sharm el Sheikh, and Zadar in the coming Summer 2019 season. It will also fly to Pristina, Ohrid, and Skopje in partnership with tour operator Air Prishtina.
Chair Airlines is 49.99%-owned by Poland’s Enter Air (E4/ENT).
