Works have begun on the passenger terminal at Osijek Airport

On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the work on expanding the passenger terminal at Osijek Airport officially began. According to Radio Osijek, over 14 million euros will be spent on the renovation and expansion of the airport.

Tihomir Pejin, Director of Osijek Airport, pointed out that the renovation is on several levels: energy, security and aesthetics, along with the upgrade of the existing terminal. The expansion of the passenger terminal will be in accordance with Schengen requirements.

Osijek Airport is owned by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Croatia (majority), the city of Osijek and the Osijek-Baranja County. In 2024, it handled 45,756 passengers, or 24.4% more than in 2023.

In the summer schedule, the airport is connected to London by the low-cost carrier Ryanair, to Munich, Split and Dubrovnik by the national carrier Croatia Airlines, and to Zagreb, Pula, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik by the subsidized PSO lines operated by Trade Air.

In order to ensure that passenger pick-up and drop-off are as fast and smooth as possible despite the ongoing works, passengers will also have access to the Osijek Airport administration building during the works. The works are scheduled to be completed in March 2026.
