TrueNoord orders 20 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft

Regional aircraft leasing specialist TrueNoord has signed its first direct purchase agreement with Embraer, marking a new phase of growth and business expansion. The deal includes a firm order for 20 new E195-E2 aircraft, with purchase rights for an additional 20 E195-E2 and 10 E175-E1 aircraft. The firm order is valued at USD 1.8 billion at list prices.

This landmark agreement represents a major milestone for the Amsterdam-based lessor, which manages a fleet of over 100 modern turboprop and regional jet aircraft leased to more than 30 airlines in 24 countries. With this contract, TrueNoord is for the first time directly purchasing new aircraft from a manufacturer, further strengthening its position in the regional aviation sector.

TrueNoord CEO Anne-Bart Tieleman emphasized that the agreement marks “an important turning point in the company’s development” and reaffirms its strategy of investing in next-generation aircraft. “Embraer’s E-Jet models combine efficiency, flexibility, and excellent performance, making them the perfect choice for our customers around the world,” Tieleman said.

From Embraer’s side, Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, highlighted that the order reinforces the market success of the E2 family. “This is a strong endorsement of the E2 family’s quality and the confidence customers have in our products. The E195-E2 offers outstanding performance and efficiency, making it the ideal choice for leasing companies and operators seeking long-term fleet modernization,” Meijer stated.

With this agreement, TrueNoord further expands its global footprint and underscores the growing interest of the leasing industry in modern, right-sized aircraft that offer an optimal balance of capacity, range, and operating economics.
