On the occasion of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian Veterans Day, and the 30th anniversary of the military-police operation “Storm,” Zagreb will host a ceremonial military parade on Thursday, July 31, 2025. In addition to a display of military readiness on the ground, the event will be especially marked by a spectacular aerial program over the capital.
The program will feature more than 40 aircraft from the Croatian Air Force and the Ministry of the Interior. Helicopters and airplanes will fly over the skies of Zagreb, including the state-of-the-art multirole Rafale fighter jets, showcasing to the public the top-tier aviation capabilities and technological advancements of Croatia’s defense system.
The aerial display is part of a broader parade that will take place along the section of Vukovar Street, from Marin Držić Avenue to Savska Street, starting at 5 PM. Approximately 3,400 members from various branches of the Croatian defense and security system are expected to participate, including the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of the Interior, the Civil Protection Directorate, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS), the Judicial Police, fire brigades, as well as historical and allied units.
In addition to aircraft, the parade will showcase over 500 combat and non-combat vehicles, including displays of the latest weaponry such as the Leopard tank, Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles, and small combat drones. A video screen will also show footage of the Croatian Navy parade, providing visitors with a comprehensive view of the forces defending Croatian territory—on land, at sea, and in the air.
The event will be further enriched by cultural and artistic performances, and organizers are inviting citizens to attend in support of Croatian veterans and defense forces, and to jointly commemorate three decades since the historic operation that marked a turning point in the Homeland War.
