As of the third day of the Paris Air Show, Airbus has reason to celebrate with 118 new aircraft orders. When added to the 132 aircraft ordered on the first day of the event, the total reaches 250 aircraft.
Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet announced an order for no less than 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft, further expanding its existing order and reaffirming its strategy of relying on the efficient and reliable A320 family. This order will enable VietJet to continue expanding its presence in domestic and regional markets, with reduced fuel consumption and emissions, key pillars in the airline’s sustainable development strategy.
Turkish cargo airline MNG Airlines has placed an order for two Airbus A350F aircraft, the most advanced freighters in Airbus’s lineup. Based on the successful A350 passenger variant, the A350F offers up to 20% lower fuel consumption compared to older models, along with increased payload capacity and cargo volume thanks to the largest cargo door in its class. This acquisition will allow MNG to modernize its cargo fleet and enhance its competitiveness in the increasingly demanding air freight market.
Egypt’s national carrier EgyptAir, has confirmed an order for six additional A350-900 aircraft, bringing its total fleet of this model to 16 units. EgyptAir plans to use these wide-body jets to strengthen its intercontinental routes, with a focus on efficiency, passenger comfort, and reducing CO₂ emissions. The A350 aircraft enables up to 25% lower fuel burn and emissions compared to the aircraft they are replacing, supporting EgyptAir’s sustainability goals.
Noteworthy as well was the announcement from Taiwan’s STARLUX Airlines, which ordered an additional ten A350-1000 aircraft. This model represents Airbus’s most advanced and largest wide-body passenger aircraft, designed for ultra-long-haul flights. STARLUX, already operating a fleet of Airbus A321neo, A330neo, and A350-900 aircraft, confirms its ambitions to expand long-haul operations while raising the bar for comfort and luxury.
The common thread among all these orders is a strong focus on fleet modernization, increased energy efficiency, and emissions reduction. These deals further strengthen Airbus’s position as a leader in the transition to more sustainable air travel. In the context of growing global demand for next-generation aircraft, these agreements represent not only a commercial success but also a clear sign of trust from major carriers in Airbus’s technology and strategic vision.
