French Air Force plane crash

A serious accident occurred during a French Air Force aircraft training exercise in Saint-Dizier, France. The accident occurred near the air base on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, at around 3:35 p.m. Two French light attack aircraft for advanced training, Alpha Jet, collided in mid-air while the aircraft were participating in a French Air Force exercise.

According to aviation portal Aviation24, two pilots and one passenger managed to safely eject. They were found conscious near the scene of the accident. The French Minister of the Armed Forces, Sebastien Lecornu, also spoke about the incident on platform X, confirming the accident and calming the public by stating that the situation is under control.

The Alpha Jet has been part of the French Air Force for decades, used primarily for pilot training and aerobatic flights.

Fortunately, collisions of this type are rare. Nevertheless, the incident raised questions about training protocols and air traffic safety. Authorities have launched an internal investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision and to examine all the circumstances surrounding the accident. Further information on this unfortunate event is expected in the coming days.
