De Havilland introduces Starlink Wi-Fi on Dash 8-400

De Havilland Canada has announced a major technological upgrade to its Dash 8-400 fleet with the introduction of Starlink satellite internet, giving passengers worldwide access for the first time to fast and reliable Wi-Fi on this type of regional turboprop aircraft.

The company revealed on September 17 in Calgary that the new option will be available as part of the OEM Refurbishment Program or as a retrofit solution for aircraft already in service. The installation has been designed for minimal downtime and does not require major modifications to existing aircraft systems.

This is the first De Havilland aircraft equipped with Starlink, providing passengers with uninterrupted internet access from takeoff to landing – even on routes crossing remote or previously underserved regions.

Adding Starlink to the Dash 8-400 demonstrates our commitment to continuous investment in our products and to delivering state-of-the-art solutions for our customers,” said Ryan DeBrusk, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at De Havilland Canada. “Passengers will enjoy fast and reliable internet access for streaming, browsing, and other real-time applications, raising the standard of regional flying to the level today’s travelers expect.”

For decades, the Dash 8-400 has been regarded as one of the most versatile and reliable regional aircraft, carrying millions of passengers each year. The introduction of satellite internet further strengthens its position in the market and adapts it to the demands of modern regional operations.

With nearly a century of tradition and more than 5,000 aircraft delivered, De Havilland Canada emphasizes that each of its products is built on Canadian expertise and industry, serving not only commercial airlines but also a wide range of specialized missions – from firefighting to medical evacuations.
