31st anniversary of the 855th Firefighting Squadron of the 93rd Croatian Air Force Wing marked

On Thursday, April 10, a ceremony was held at the Colonel Mirko Vukušić barracks in Zemunik Donji to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the establishment of the 855th Firefighting Squadron, which operates as part of the 93rd Wing of the Croatian Air Force.

The event was attended by the squadron’s deputy commander, Colonel Milan Došen, who highlighted the courage, dedication, and professionalism of all unit members. He emphasized that the squadron is always ready to respond to challenges, both in Croatia and in international operations, and specifically praised its successes in firefighting efforts.

The commander of the 93rd Wing, Brigadier Krešimir Ražov, commended the selfless work of pilots and technicians, underscoring their crucial role in preserving natural resources. He added that the squadron’s contributions are not only vital for Croatia but have also been recognized in international missions.

Alongside Colonel Došen and Brigadier Ražov, the ceremony was attended by members of the 855th Firefighting Squadron and commanders of other units within the 93rd Wing. During the event, commendations and awards were presented to deserving personnel. This occasion reaffirmed the unit’s importance in the fire protection system and its enduring role in ensuring security.
