Croatia Airlines is expanding its fleet with leased aircraft

The fleet of Croatia Airlines, the national air carrier of Croatia, will have 14 aircraft as of this spring.

The carrier plans to take over one Airbus A319 and one De Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400 in “dry lease”.

According to the information we have, the Airbus A319 should be acquired from easyJet, a British low-cost carrier.  We do not yet have any information on the aircraft itself, the variant, registration or age. According to the unofficial information, the aircraft is 7 years old, and is currently being taken over in the Netherlands. The first CTN flight with the new Airbus should be on March 29th

The Dash 8 Q400 will be acquired from the Austrian carrier Austrian Airlines. The aircraft is reported to be 15 years old, with 30.000 flying hours. The serial number is MSN: 4104, currently under registration OE-LGJ. Its first flight for CTN should be on May 1st.

Also, the carrier train additional crews for these types of aircraft. During the training, the carrier will take one CRJ-1000 in “wet lease” from the Spanish carrier Air Nostrum .

Some changes will have to be made on the DASH 8 Q400 on arrival, while only a certain “check” will be made on the A319.
