Total passenger transport in the first four months of 2019 exceeds the same period of last year by 3 percent
Zagreb, 8 May 2019 – Aircraft of Croatia Airlines, the Croatian flag carrier and Star Alliance member, transported a total of 172,758 passengers this April, a record-breaking number in the history of this company, exceeding the previous April record from 2011 (151,231 passengers) by 14.2 percent.
The number of passengers in April this year marks a 16 percent increase compared to April last year (+23,359 passengers).
The first four months of 2019 saw a 3-percent increase in total passenger transport. A total of 518,557 passengers were transported in that period, with passenger load factor (PLF) of 69.1 percent.
Considering the positive booking and demand trends, it is expected that the positive passenger trend will continue throughout the year, particularly during the tourist season, when Croatia Airlines will directly fly to 38 destinations in 24 European countries.
Based on the current indicators, 2019 could mark a 5-percent increase in the number of passengers compared to 2018, during which a record 2.168,863 passengers were transported.
