Trade Air suspended domestic air traffic

Croatian airline Trade Air has suspended all flights performed for the purposes of PSO (Public service obligation) in domestic air traffic.

As Capt. Marko Cvijin, the owner of the company, confirmed for Avioradar, Trade Air canceled their flights two days earlier than forseen by the PSO contract they had with the State. The reason for the earlier termination is the current situation with the coronavirus COVID-19.

In any case, the last flight would be on Friday, when the contract expires. The State has not yet conducted a PSO tender.

Trade Air connected Osijek with destinations on the Adriatic coast, as well as those destinations with each other. The flights were useful for a large number of people despite the small number of seats required by the PSO. For example, passengers could fly from Dubrovnik to Split or Rijeka, as well as from Split to Pula, which was not possible before.

Unfortunately, it will not be possible again because, even if COVID-19 issue is to be solved tomorrow, the PSO competition is not even planned yet.
