Long time expected direct route between USA and Croatia has started with operations; the line with flight number AA148 of American Airlines (AA/AAL) on route Philadelphia – Dubrovnik. This is the first direct route from USA to a destination in Croatia since the Croatian Independence. A Boeing 767-300ER with registration N346AN departed from Philadelphia yesterday at 18:18 local time.
The aircraft arrived to Dubrovnik at 8:45 after a long flight of 8 hours and 10 minutes. Dubrovnik Airport prepared a welcome celebration for this very special occasion. There were 197 passangers on the first flight.
This route will be operated until the end of September with 3 weekly flights. Additional fourth flight a week will be added during September. Avioradar has got an information that next year, this route will be operaring on a daily basis. It is important to emphasize that American Airlines is offering this flight in a code-share agreement with British nacional air carrier British Airways (BA/BAW), with its flight numbers BA1591/BA1592. Both air carriers are partner members of OneWorld Alliance.
