As it was previously announced, Croatia Airlines (OU/CTN), the member Star Alliance, will soon take over two leased planes, a Bombardier Q400 and an Airbus A319. Airbus A319 will not be an ex-EasyJet (U2/EZY) plane as it was announced earlier.
The Airbus A319-112 with a serial number c/n 5085 was built in March 2012 for a Grrman airline Germania (ST/GMI). It was the last Airbus A319 bulit for Germania and it was registered under D-ASTC. After Germania went bankrupt in February 2019, this aircraft was taken over by HiFly (5K/HFY) and included into its Maltese subsidiary HiFly Malta (5M/HFM), with registration 9H-LOL. During summer last year it operated mainy regular charter flights from Toulouse to Hamburg – Finkenwerder Airport for employers of Airbus Industrie. According to our ealier sources, this aircraft was supposed to be taken over by Volotea (V7/VOE).
The aircraft is currently stored at Woensdrecht Airport (WOE) in Netherlands. It has 150 seats and, once it gets to Croatia, it will get a new registration 9A-CTN. The plane will join the fleet of Croatia Airlines before March 29th 2020, just in time, before the summer 2020 timetable starts.
