After 28 years, Rudolf Perešin’s legendary MiG-21 ”26 112” in which he flew from Bihać to Klagenfurt, returned to Croatia!
Since october 1991 till today, this aircraft was kept in Zeltweg Air Museum in Austria near Klagenfurt.
”We are all very proud that this aircraft, which is a symbol of herosim,has returned to Croatia. Rudolf Perišin’s flight shows what kind of people serve in Croatian military”, Colonel General Drago Matanović said.
”The entire operation lasted for 5 days and 20 hours of effective work, fatigue wasn’t a problem because we had the motivation to bring this plane home.
This aircraft will be at display in front of Ministry of Defence of The Republic of Croatia from this sunday till the end of May. After that it will be taken back to 91st Airforce Base Pleso. The aircraft will be displayed in Croatian Military Museum as soon as it opens for public.
