Irish low-cost air carrier Ryanair (FR/RYR) has announced they will close their base at Skavsta Airport near Stockholm, as well as their new base in Nurenberg, Germany. The reason is Boeing 737MAX, since Ryainair will not get 20 of these planes for summer 2020.
For Croatian market this means the end for the Stockholm – Rijeka route. This route was the best Ryanair route to Rijeka, operated twice weekly from the begining of April until the end of October every year. Air tickets for this route have alredy been removed from offer for the next year.
However, it was recently announced that Stockholm – Zadar route will boost flight operations from two to three flights a week. Air tickets for this route are still in offer for next year. Air tickets for Nurenberg – Zadar route are also still in offer, although Nuremberg base is planned to be closed. It remains to be seen when the air tickets for these two routes will be removed from reservations.
(UPDATE) Nuremberg Airport has confirmed in meantime that Zadar route will continue with operations, althogh Nuremberg base will be closed.
Earlier we announced at Avioradar that Hamburg – Zadar route is cancelled for next year, as Hamburg base was planned for closure earlier.
