RIJEKA, June 1st, 2019. – Today, Rijeka Airport has welcomed the first flight from a new carrier – Lufthansa; flight LH1698 direct service from Munich.
New route Rijeka – Munich will be operating once a week on Saturdays, with departure at 19:30, starting from June 1st till October 26th. Lufthansa will deploy its CRJ 900 aircraft on the route, operated by its subsidiary Lufthansa CityLine (CL/CLH).
Welcome speech was held by Planning and Development Manager Vedrana Čubranić on behalf of Rijeka Airport, and Peter Pullem on behalf of Lufthansa. The ceremony continued in a festive way, with local traditional dance preformance and cake.
First flight to Rijeka was operated by Canadair (Bombardier) CRJ-900 aircraft, reg D-ACKL. The arriving flight had passengers on-board.
