The first air carrier already went bankrupt in 2020. Italian air carrier Ernest Airlines (EG/ERN) has discontinued all flight operations on Saturday, January 11th. Italian aviation authorities already announced to remove AOC certificate of this comany in December, before the end of last years.
Ernest had a fleet of three Airbus A320s and one Airbus A319. They started with flight operations in 2016. The main operational base was at Malpensa Airport in Milan. Their destinations were at Albania, France, Romania, Spain and Ukraine. They also opereted flights from other Italian airports, beside Milan. Ernest has never operated any regular flights to Croatia, but they had several unscheduled charter flights from Italy to Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar (in the picture).
