ZAGREB, 28th March 2019. – Franjo Tuđman Airport marks its two-year anniversary since opening the new airport terminal and transferring the entire traffic and personal into the new infrastructure. One of the newest and most modern terminals in Europe has opened its doors for passengers and air traffic in spring 2017. Since then, the airport has hit its record highs in passenger and cargo numbers, welcomed new airlines and introduced new routes, got very positive customers’ feedback and awards.
Today, there are 30 airlines operating on schedule in and out of the Airport, connecting Zagreb with 46 destinations within Croatia, Europe and worldwide. Throughout the year, Zagreb is connected to all major European hubs – Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Munich, Paris and Vienna, as well as with a several intercontinental destinations like Doha, Dubai, Seoul and Toronto.
After hitting record highs since 2017, Franjo Tuđman Airport continues to see double-digit cumulative growth in 2018. Continuous annual growth in 2017 was 12%, and 8% in 2018. The positive rate of growth is also expected throughout the current 2019. More than 90% of all air cargo traffic in Croatia is operated from Franjo Tuđman Airport, with a 16% growth in 2018.
