Zagreb Airport held a meeting of its Sustainable Development Committee, bringing together representatives of the aviation sector, state institutions, business partners and the local community. The aim of the meeting was to further strengthen cooperation among stakeholders and encourage the development of sustainable practices in airport operations and the wider aviation environment.
The meeting took place on Friday, May 22, with discussions focusing on topics that are increasingly shaping the development of airports in Europe and around the world. These included noise management, waste management, energy efficiency, emissions reduction, biodiversity protection, digitalisation and the implementation of the European OLGA project.
Zagreb Airport emphasised that sustainable development remains one of its strategic business priorities, but also an area that requires continuous communication, coordination and joint action by all parties involved. For this reason, the Sustainable Development Committee serves as a platform for exchanging experience, coordinating activities and defining the direction of future initiatives.
The work of the Committee included representatives of Zagreb Airport, Croatia Control, Croatia Airlines, Havas Ground Handling, Resalta d.o.o., DARH 2 d.o.o., BTA Croatia d.o.o., SDA Croatia d.o.o., Vita Projekt d.o.o. and Infra Plan Konzalting d.o.o.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, the City of Velika Gorica and the Dumovec local committee.
It was concluded that the sustainable development of airports requires an integrated approach, long-term cooperation and the involvement of a broad range of stakeholders. The results of the meeting are expected to serve as a basis for further activities and the development of new sustainable initiatives at Zagreb Airport, with continued cooperation with partners, institutions and the local community.
