The Croatian Air Force aerobatic team “Wings of Storm” took part in Belgium Air Force Days 2026, held from June 25 to 29, 2026, at Florennes Air Base in the Kingdom of Belgium.

At one of Europe’s more prominent international air shows, the Croatian aerobatic team performed twice, representing the Croatian Air Force, the Croatian Armed Forces and the Republic of Croatia in front of a large audience. This year’s edition of the event also marked the 80th anniversary of the Belgian Air Force.

For “Wings of Storm”, this was their third appearance in the Kingdom of Belgium. After returning from the event, the team leader, Major Darko Belančić, said that performing in front of such a large audience was both a special honour and a responsibility.

“Performing in front of such a large number of spectators is a privilege, but also an honour, as we represent the Croatian Armed Forces and the Republic of Croatia. This year we had two displays and I believe the audience enjoyed them,” said Major Belančić.

Belgium Air Force Days 2026 also had special significance for the team’s newest member, First Lieutenant Bruno Bulum, for whom this was the first international appearance with “Wings of Storm”.

“Wearing the Croatian uniform and carrying the Croatian flag at events like this is personally a great honour and gives me great satisfaction,” said First Lieutenant Bulum.

In addition to the pilots, 11 aircraft technicians also travelled to Belgium, where they were responsible for the serviceability, preparation and technical inspections of the Pilatus PC-9M aircraft used by “Wings of Storm”. Their role is essential for the safe and reliable execution of the display programme at international air shows.

“Wings of Storm” have so far completed a total of 286 performances, including 212 in Croatia and 74 abroad. The team has presented its programme at major aviation events in 15 European countries, including Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Turkey, Slovenia and Hungary.

The appearance in Belgium continues the international promotion of Croatian military aviation through an aerobatic programme that has attracted the attention of air show audiences across Europe for many years.
