United Airlines today announced an expansion of its seasonal route from Dubrovnik to New York/Newark, which will start three weeks earlier, on 2 May 2025, and will operate daily instead of four times a week. This increase will double the available seats on flights in 2025.
“We are excited to announce the expansion of our seasonal service from Dubrovnik to New York/Newark for the 2025 summer season, allowing our customers in Croatia to book their next trip to the U.S. even earlier,” said Marcel Fuchs, United Airlines’ Director of International Sales. “Our daily service from Dubrovnik will offer travelers more travel options and seamless connections through our New York/Newark hub to 58 destinations across America.”
This significant increase is the result of long-term efforts and negotiations with United. “Through longstanding collaboration and continuous investment in service improvements, we’ve made a significant step forward that will benefit both Ruđer Bošković Airport and the entire destination. As the only airport in Croatia directly connected to the U.S., we are honored that the increase in flights on the Dubrovnik-New York/Newark route is part of the largest international expansion in the airline’s history,” said Viktor Šober, Director of Ruđer Bošković Airport.
With this expansion, United is introducing 11 new flights and eight new destinations. Starting in May 2025, United will launch five new flights from its Newark/New York hub to destinations not served by any other U.S. airline, including Nuuk, Greenland; Palermo, Italy; Bilbao, Spain; Madeira, and Faro, Portugal. It will also add three new routes from Washington D.C./Dulles, including its first year-round flight to Dakar, Senegal, as well as new seasonal flights to Nice, France, and Venice, Italy.
United is also adding new flights from Tokyo-Narita to Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; and Koror, Palau – destinations not served by any other U.S. airline.
The new flights will be available for sale on United.com and in the United app in the coming weeks.
United is the largest airline in the world and flies to more international destinations than any other U.S. carrier. Next summer, it will offer 800 daily flights to and from 147 international destinations – including 40 that no other U.S. airline serves.
