Turkish Airlines launches flights to Sydney

After launching flights to Melbourne at the beginning of this year, Turkish Airlines is now expanding its network of destinations in Australia. The new destination will be Sydney, which is not surprising, as Turkish Airlines has designated those two cities as its target cities in Australia. We can say that the opening of a new destination in Australia came very quickly, and we can interpret that as Turkish Airlines is satisfied with the traffic and wants to increase its market share. Perhaps they would have started flights to Sydeney earlier, but due to the impossibility of obtaining wide-body aircraft faster, the opening of new destinations is going slower than Turkish Airlines would like.

The first flight to Sydney departs on 4 December 2024 with the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The flight to Melbourne flies via Singapore, while the new flight to Sydney will fly with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur. The flight from Istanbul to Sydney will take 19 hours and 15 minutes with a stopover of one hour and twenty minutes in Kuala Lumpur to refuel. The return flight will last 21 hours and 35 minutes, and there will be a 2-hour layover in Kuala Lumpur. The flight will fly to Sydney on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while the return flight to Istanbul will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flight schedule also makes travel from Zagreb possible.
