Malaysia Aviation Group, the parent company of Malaysia Airlines, took delivery of the first of twenty Airbus A330neo aircraft on order in Toulouse on 29 November 2024. The Airbus A330-900 is on lease from Avolon. The aircraft is a new aircraft type that is characterised by new standards of increased fuel efficiency and an improved passenger experience. It is configured in Business and Economy classes. Business class consists of 28 seats in private compartments, while Economy class accommodates 269 passengers. All passengers enjoy more personal space with larger overhead bins, enhanced in-flight entertainment systems and high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity.
The aircraft will fly across Asia-Pacific and on selected routes to the Middle East.
Malaysia Airlines has become the 2oth airline to operate the modern A330neo aircraft. 140 have been delivered worldwide, Airbus said in a statement.
