Lufthansa aircraft emergency. Diverted to Zagreb

A Lufthansa Airbus A321 NEO (A321-271NX) on a flight from Tel Aviv to Frankfurt has landed safely at Zagreb Airport this morning at 7:43 local time.

The crew declared an emergency while in the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina and requested to be diverted to Zagreb.

As AvioRadar has learned, while cruising at an altitude of 36,000 feet (11,000 meters), a Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engine number two (the engine located on the right wing of the aircraft) had a malfunction, causing it to shut down.

Emergency services met the plane at Zagreb airport, but there was no need for their intervention. At the time of writing this article, the aircraft is still parked in Zagreb in a parking position not far from the technical service of Croatia Airlines.
