The Croatian Air Force aerobatic team “Krila Oluje” (eng. Wings of the Storm) has presented its official display programme for 2026 in Zemunik, with the performance at the “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić” barracks also marking the first official appearance of the team’s newest member, Lieutenant Bruno Bulum.
The programme for this season was performed on Friday, May 22, by the team, which operates within the 392nd Aircraft Squadron of the 93rd Wing of the Croatian Air Force. The display lasted 21 minutes and included a total of 19 manoeuvres that “Krila Oluje” will perform during 2026 at air shows and other events in Croatia and abroad.
The team’s first official performance of the year was also attended by the commander of the 93rd Wing, Brigadier Tomislav Vacenovski, together with members of the 392nd Aircraft Squadron. After the display, Brigadier Vacenovski congratulated the team members and presented Lieutenant Bulum with the “Krila Oluje” diploma and badge, officially confirming his entry into the aerobatic team.
Lieutenant Bulum will fly in the team as the outer right wingman. He became a member of “Krila Oluje” after a selection and training process that began in early 2026. Before joining the flying formation, he served as the team’s official commentator, and will now take on an active role in the display formation.
Speaking about the training process, Lieutenant Bulum said it had been demanding, particularly in the initial phase, when a candidate does not yet know whether he will meet the criteria for joining the team. He also highlighted the support of his colleagues and family, adding that becoming a member of “Krila Oluje” had been a long-held ambition and, in a way, a reward for everything he had gone through and achieved so far.
The leader of “Krila Oluje”, Major Darko Belančić, said Bulum had shown a very high level of readiness from the beginning to the end of training. He noted that the official presentation of the programme and the new team member represents the culmination of several months of work by the entire squadron and team, bringing together people, aircraft, equipment and organisation.
“Krila Oluje” is one of the most recognisable flying units of the Croatian Air Force and regularly performs at aviation events and ceremonial occasions. With its new programme and the addition of Lieutenant Bulum to the formation, the team continues the 2026 season with a refreshed line-up.
