Embraer’s military transport aircraft KC-390 Millennium has completed its latest international demonstration campaign, during which it visited 11 countries, performed 54 flights and covered more than 47,000 nautical miles in just over 70 days. After its final appearance at the FIDAE airshow in Chile, the aircraft returned to Brazil, landing at Embraer Defense’s headquarters in Gavião Peixoto.
During the tour, the KC-390 logged around 140 flight hours, with the campaign designed to show how the aircraft performs in a wide range of operating conditions. It flew in environments ranging from Arctic cold to the hot and humid climate of Asia, underlining the type’s ability to operate across demanding missions and diverse climate zones.
A central part of the demonstrations focused on different types of cargo transport. During the tour, the KC-390 showcased its ability to carry containers, medical modules, light and heavy vehicles, and palletized cargo. In this way, Embraer further highlighted the aircraft’s multi-role character, as it is intended for both tactical and logistical missions while being adaptable to very different customer requirements.
The Brazilian manufacturer says each of the 54 flights served as further proof of the programme’s maturity and the aircraft’s readiness for complex international operations. Particular emphasis was placed on qualities such as interoperability, operational flexibility, efficiency, and lower operating costs, as well as the ability to meet the demands of modern air forces.
The demonstration campaign began in late January at the Singapore Airshow, after which the KC-390 visited a number of strategically important markets and regions, including Poland, Sweden, and the United States, before concluding in Chile. Embraer says the tour once again reinforced the KC-390 Millennium’s position in the segment of next-generation military transport aircraft, especially for missions requiring a combination of payload capacity, adaptability, and performance in challenging conditions.
