Good Bye Michele

The Airbus A320, registered as 9A-BTG, which joined the Croatian airline Trade Air (C3/TDR) in 2016, has completed its final flight. On Wednesday, August 14, a check flight was conducted at Ljubljana Airport in preparation for its journey to the scrapyard. The aircraft, affectionately named “Michele,” took off for the last time on Thursday, August 15, flying from Ljubljana to Kemble, Great Britain, under the callsign TDR9BTG.

This aircraft was originally built in 1998 with the serial number 795 for the Canadian airline SkyService (5G/SSV), where it was registered as C-FTDA. During its service, it was frequently leased to European carriers, including the UK’s Airtours International (VZ/AIH). In 2004, the aircraft was acquired by the Portuguese airline SATA International (S4/RZO) and was registered as CS-TKJ. It continued to serve with SATA until 2016, when it was transferred to Croatia. This aircraft marked a significant milestone for Trade Air, as it was the first Airbus A320 in their fleet, which previously consisted solely of Fokker F-100 aircraft.
