Croatia Airlines, the Croatian national carrier, today ceremoniously welcomed its fourth new Airbus A220 aircraft at Zagreb Airport. This marks the continuation of the fleet renewal project that began last year with the delivery of the first two A220 aircraft.
The new Airbus A220-300, with a capacity of 149 seats, bears the registration 9A-CAM and is named after the city of Rijeka. The aircraft arrived in Croatia directly from the Airbus factory in Mirabel, Canada, further strengthening Croatia Airlines’ fleet with a modern and more environmentally efficient aircraft. The arrival of a fifth aircraft, registration 9A-CAN and named Osijek, is expected soon.
The Croatian national carrier now operates four Airbus A220-300 aircraft, and a total of five new A220s are expected to be delivered during 2025. The entire fleet renewal project is scheduled for completion by 2027, by which time Croatia Airlines should have a total of 15 Airbus A220 aircraft—13 A220-300 models and two smaller A220-100 models.
This fleet modernization is a key step in the company’s development strategy, through which Croatia Airlines aims to increase efficiency, reduce CO₂ emissions, and improve service quality for passengers on both domestic and international routes.
