Croatian Civil Aviation Agency to hire four new experts in Airworthiness Department

The Croatian Civil Aviation Agency has published two public calls for employment in its Airworthiness Department, within the Flight Operations, Training, Airworthiness and Licensing Sector. The calls cover a total of four new positions, three AWD aviation inspectors and one airworthiness specialist, with Zagreb listed as the place of work.

These positions are related to one of the key areas of the civil aviation regulator’s work, airworthiness oversight, monitoring the implementation of regulations and aligning the national system with European and international standards. In the published calls, the Agency notes that, based on public authority, it performs tasks defined by the Air Traffic Act as an activity of interest to the Republic of Croatia, while also monitoring and implementing international standards necessary for fulfilling Croatia’s obligations in the field of civil aviation safety and security.

For the position of AWD aviation inspector, the Agency is looking for three candidates. The job description includes professional and administrative tasks within the Department’s scope of work, conducting administrative and non-administrative procedures, drafting decisions and certificates, carrying out aviation safety oversight, monitoring the correction of identified deficiencies and irregularities, and taking measures in cases of violations of the Air Traffic Act. The inspectors will also participate in the work of the Agency’s expert bodies, prepare professional materials and reports, and monitor European legislation, international standards and recommended practices.

Candidates for the AWD aviation inspector position must have relevant higher education in aeronautics, transport, aviation, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or aircraft maintenance, along with at least five years of work experience in relevant duties. Alternatively, candidates may apply with a secondary education in an aviation technical or technical field, at least ten years of relevant experience and a valid Part 66 aircraft maintenance licence in category B1 and/or B2. Active knowledge of English at least at B2 level is also required, along with computer literacy and knowledge of European and international standards within the Department’s scope of work.

The second call refers to the position of airworthiness specialist, for which one candidate is sought. The duties include administrative, professional and technical tasks, evaluating compliance with the requirements for issuing certificates and approvals, maintaining records and databases, preparing reports, and monitoring and assessing national regulations, European legislation and international standards. For this position, candidates are required to have a relevant degree in aeronautics, aviation, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or aircraft maintenance, and at least one year of relevant work experience.

Both calls offer an indefinite full-time employment contract, with a mandatory six-month probationary period. The Agency also lists occasional annual bonuses, paid meal and transport costs, a free annual medical check-up, opportunities for further personal and professional development, additional training and education, and IT equipment according to the requirements of the job.

Applications for both calls must be submitted by May 15, 2026, either in person to Buzinski krči 5, Buzin, 10010 Zagreb, or by e-mail to pisarnica@ccaa.hr. Depending on the call, candidates should indicate whether they are applying for the position of AWD aviation inspector or airworthiness specialist in the Airworthiness Department. The selection process may include testing of professional knowledge and skills, computer literacy testing, English language testing, psychological assessment and an interview.
