CCAA to host workshop “Safer Together – General Aviation Flight Experience”

The Croatian Civil Aviation Agency (CCAA) has announced a professional workshop titled “Safer Together – General Aviation Flight Experience”, to be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Agency’s headquarters in Zagreb (Ulica grada Vukovara 284, Almeria D building, 3rd floor). The event starts at 10:00 a.m. and is intended for airplane and glider pilots, as well as all stakeholders involved in the general aviation sector.

The workshop will cover a range of topics focused on flight safety, risk analysis, and sharing of real-world experiences. The introductory session will provide an overview of safety trends in the EU and Croatia based on the EASA Annual Safety Review 2024, along with national data and planned activities within the State Safety Programme. Special emphasis will be placed on the occurrence reporting system and the challenges the general aviation sector is expected to face in the coming period.

Subsequent sessions will address the specifics of gliding in Croatia, with a focus on the lack of reported occurrences and its impact on risk assessment. The segment dedicated to airplanes will examine key safety aspects and the most frequent causes of accidents, including loss of control in flight (LoC-I), unusual aircraft attitudes, mid-air collisions, and communication issues.

The afternoon part of the program will feature a presentation by the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Agency, which will present statistics and safety recommendations based on investigated cases, followed by an interactive exercise analyzing real scenarios to identify risks and define mitigation measures.

Participation in the workshop is free of charge, but the number of seats is limited. All interested pilots and club representatives are invited to register by October 20, 2025, via email at marina.fekonja.dragan@ccaa.hr.

The “Safer Together” workshop is part of the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of safety and raise awareness of risks in general aviation, intending to jointly enhance flight safety in the Republic of Croatia.
