Airbus launches new digital company Skywise

European aerospace manufacturer Airbus has announced a new step in its digital transformation with the creation of a dedicated company, Skywise, which will combine existing Skywise digital solutions and Navblue services into a single organisation. The move is aimed at addressing increasingly complex airline needs and streamlining flight, technical, and ground operations across both Airbus and non-Airbus fleets.

The new company will have a global footprint, with operations in Canada, France, India, Poland, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and will employ around 750 specialists. This highlights Airbus’s clear focus on digital services as a key pillar of its future growth.

According to Cristina Aguilar, Senior Vice President of Customer Services for Commercial Aircraft, combining existing solutions will enable stronger integration of technical capabilities and deliver greater value to customers. She emphasised that the digital segment is currently the fastest growing part of the services market, with airlines increasingly demanding resilient, interoperable and end-to-end solutions.

The Skywise platform has already transformed aviation data management, with more than 12,000 connected aircraft worldwide. With its transition into a standalone company, Skywise is evolving from a tool into a central digital ecosystem, further leveraging Navblue’s expertise in flight operations and planning.

With this move, Airbus reinforces its ambition to position itself not only as an aircraft manufacturer but as a comprehensive service provider across the entire aircraft lifecycle, from entry into service to retirement. By integrating digital services into a single entity, the company aims to enhance operator efficiency while strengthening service revenue through digital optimisation and lifecycle management.
