Velika Gorica is getting ready for a major aviation spectacle – the AIRVG2025 airshow, which will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the old terminal of Franjo Tuđman International Airport.
The goal of this event is to promote aviation in Croatia and position Velika Gorica as the “City of Aviation”, a title jointly endorsed by the Croatian Air Force, Zagreb International Airport, Croatia Control (Air Traffic Control), Zagreb Airport, Aeronautical Technical Center Velika Gorica, Croatia Airlines, Trade Air, Rudolf Perešin Aeronautical Technical School, University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica, Aeroclub Velika Gorica, and the Velika Gorica Tourist Board.
All these institutions will participate in this aviation event, which last year attracted over 20,000 visitors and was covered by more than 350 spotters and journalists from 25 countries, spreading images of this unique spectacle—held at a fully operational airport—around the world. This year’s program promises to be even bigger and more exciting. The Croatian Air Force will once again take center stage, displaying all its operational aircraft, including the latest C3R-EC/DC Rafale fighter jets, as well as the firefighting squadron that was absent last year. In addition to the familiar aircraft seen in Velika Gorica’s skies, special guests from foreign squadrons will also make an appearance, ensuring an exceptionally thrilling event.
Since the airshow takes place within a functioning airport, the number of visitors is limited, and tickets are mandatory for everyone except children accompanied by adults. Digital tickets (€5) will be available starting April 29 via the CoreEvent platform or at CoreEvent sales points, while invitations for Velika Gorica residents can be picked up at the Velika Gorica Tourist Board, Public Open University, the city administration office, or the VG Goričanka municipal building. Photographers (spotters) can apply for accreditation online, granting them early access to the static display and special viewing areas for the flight program.
Visitors should be aware of strict security measures—entry checks will be conducted, and bringing food, drinks, or pets is prohibited. Due to intense noise, the event is not recommended for infants, while young children or noise-sensitive individuals are advised to use hearing protection. Additional details, including traffic regulations and transport options, will be available in due time on the official website: www.airvg.info.
AIRVG2025 is a unique opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to witness incredible flight performances and explore modern aviation technology. Don’t miss this spectacular event in the heart of Croatian aviation!
