11.3 million euros for the renovation of the Osijek Airport terminal

A contract has been signed for the renovation and reconstruction of Osijek Airport’s passenger terminal. The works should start as soon as the contractor is introduced to the work, and finish by the end of 2024.

On that occasion, Ivan Radić, the mayor of Osijek, said: “Two years ago, we did not have a single international flight from and to Osijek, while now we fly to Munich and London. Those flights have increased the number of passengers at the airport by 134 % compared to last year”.

Osijek Airport emphasized that the reconstruction of the Airport will proceed through three phases. The first phase of the project is designing, the second is obtaining permits and acts, and the last phase is the construction itself. Osijek is renovating a total of 2,800 m2 of the terminal building.

The airport building will be expanded and reorganized, so the reconstruction will result in adding additional gates, which will necessarily change the flow of passengers. The catering and cafe area will be moved to another location within the building, and an area intended for border control will be built and arranged. The security screening area and passenger arrival area will be expanded.
