Dubrovnik Airport had 1,582 take-off and landing operations with 59,133 passengers in July.
- Good occupancy on the first flights from the UK to Pula and Dubrovnik
- Where did Dubrovnik disappear to?
- Helvetic Airways will arrive to Dubrovnik
- Airbus A319CJ from New York to Dubrovnik
The peak day in July was July 25, when Dubrovnik recorded 92 operations and 4,505 passengers.
By comparison, in July 2019, there were 4,470 operations and 514,723 passengers. So only 35.39% of operations and 14.26% of passengers compared to the same month last year.
The total number of operations this year is 3,366, which is last year’s number of operations in June alone (3,674)!
In terms of passenger numbers, the numbers are also devastating. In 2020, Dubrovnik Airport accepted and dispatched 146,159 passengers, which is even less than in April last year (210,803 passengers)
It should be noted that out of 1,582 operations in July, as many as 676 operations fall on the General Aviation, which is one of the reasons for the disproportion between the percentage of operations and the number of passengers. Although, as we find out, while load factor on flights to/from UK is reasonable, occupancy on flights to/from other markets is unsatisfactory.
The average aircraft occupancy in July is lower than in June!
Aircraft occupancy in May and June was 64% and 68%, respectively, while this percentage decreased in July and amounted to 47%, which shows that the optimism spread by city and tourist institutions is not justified and despite the opening of the UK market, Dubrovnik does not fill available capacity on restored flights.
It remains to be seen to what extent carriers will be able to maintain flights to Dubrovnik.
