Avion Express’ Airbus A321 from China to Croatia

On Wednesday, April 22nd, Lithuanian air carrier Avion Express (X9/NVD) arrived with an Airbus A321. This aircraft arrived with medical equipment on the flight no. X9102/NVD102 on the following route: Shanghai – Irkutsk – Novosibirsk – Vilnius – Zagreb. This flight with three stops was more then 13 hours long. This aircraft with registration LY-VEG was bulit in 2003 for Spanish flag air carrier Iberia (IB/IBE). It was operated in Spain with registration EC-ITN  until 2017, when it was taken over by the current Lithuanian air carrier. It was mostly leased to the bankrupt UK air carrier Thomas Cook (MT/TCX), so it still wears Thomas Cook livery without logo titles.

Avion Express was founded in 2005 under the previous name Nordic Solutions Air Services (NVD). The main operational base is at Vilnius in Lithuania. They started flight operations with 4 Saab SF-340s. Since 2010, they changed their name into the current one, and their business model taking over their first Airbus A320. They currently have 8 Airbus A321s, 14 Airbus A320s, and 1 Airbus A319.

Their Airbus A320 with registration LY-VEF used to fly from 2014 until 2016 for the Croatian air carrier Limitless Airways (LIM) with registration 9A-SLA. This aircraft was scrapped last year at UK airport Kemble (GBA/EGBP)
