Equipment has been procured as part of the project for the Electrification and Greening of the Aircraft Acceptance and Departure System, as well as Aircraft Electrical Power Supply at Zadar Airport.
Faced with the challenges of climate change and the increasing need for sustainable solutions in daily operations, Zadar Airport has initiated the project for the Electrification and Greening of the Aircraft Acceptance and Departure System, as well as Aircraft Electrical Power Supply at Zadar Airport, with project code NPOO.C1.4.R5I1.01.0001, emphasizing the importance of transitioning to greener, environmentally friendly equipment. One of the key steps in this transition is replacing traditional equipment powered by fossil fuels with electrically powered ones. As part of these efforts, Zadar Airport has recently taken significant steps to reduce its environmental footprint.
The project involves the procurement of the following equipment: electric aircraft pushback vehicle – 1 unit, remotely operated electric aircraft pushback vehicle – 1 unit, electric baggage cart towing vehicles – 5 units, self-propelled electric stairs – 1 unit, passenger shuttle bus to/from aircraft – 1 unit.
The activities carried out are fully in line with the objectives and purpose of the project. The project aims to replace part of the existing aircraft acceptance and departure system powered by fossil fuels with electrically powered equipment, and to provide an environmentally friendly aircraft power supply system and equipment from renewable energy sources, ultimately aiming to reduce harmful gas emissions into the environment. The implementation of the project is expected to result in an anticipated reduction of CO2 emissions by 47.52%.
The total value of the project is €16,330,740.41, with total eligible costs of €12,830,602.02, of which €9,279,967.08 is in non-refundable funds. The project implementation period is from 1 October 2021, to 31 October 2024.
