On the inquiry of AvioRadar about the current delivery status of the first out of 15 ordered Airbus A220s, Croatia Airlines confirmed: “The first of 15 new Airbus A220 aircraft (serial number MSN 55290) is in the final stage of construction. It is an A220-300 aircraft with a capacity of 149 passenger seats. The planned completion of the aircraft painting is May 31, and the inclusion in the fleet is expected at the end of June this year.”
The national air carrier announced earlier in May that the first group of flight crew is undergoing training and that the training of technical staff is also progressing. Together with the first A220, a new visual identity with new aircraft livery is expected to be unveiled, as we reported exactly a year ago. The current logo of Croatia Airlines was designed by Vilim Vasata, while the designer of the tail and the overall livery of the aircraft is Ivana Ivanković, who was awarded the Rebrand 100 prize for the aircraft livery redesign. Croatia Airlines confirmed for AvioRadar: “Croatia Airlines plans to redesign the logo with the arrival of the new A220 aircraft, and this process is currently in the project phase. Once the mentioned project is completed, the company will inform the public with all the relevant details.”
