On Wednesday, October 18 2023, in the VIP lounge of Franjo Tuđman Airport, a conference was held to present the EU project “Reconstruction of the manoeuvring area to improve the civil-military operability of Franjo Tuđman Airport”.
The main goal of the project is to increase the safety and reliability of civil and military air traffic at Zagreb Airport. The airport is connected to the Air Force Base “Colonel Marko Živković” by taxiway T.
The ZAGairMILMOB project includes two main activities:
• Reconstruction of taxiway F and parts of taxiways D, E, G and H and the intersection with taxiway T of Franjo Tuđman Airport, as well as replacement of electrical installations, part of the lighting and electronic equipment on the taxiways that are subject to reconstruction.
• Replacement of vertical signalling on the manoeuvre surface of Franjo Tuđman Airport.
The expected results of the project are:
• increased safety of civil and military air traffic on the runways
• the project complies with the conditions for issuing the certificate and the Guidelines for designing airports issued by EASA and
• increased energy efficiency of the lighting system.
